Hidden Valley (copycat) recipe

I really enjoy a good ranch dressing. I like Hidden Valley's dressing mix packets. However, it's pretty pricey so I tried several recipes to make my own I've found this one to be the best.

1/2 cup DRY buttermilk
1 TBSP dried parsley, crushed
1 tsp dried dill weed
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp dried onion flakes
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp ground pepper

Combine all ingredients into a blender. Blend it together at a high speed until it is smooth.

If you want it use it for a salad combine 1 TBSP of the mix with 1 cup of mayo and 3/4 cup of buttermilk. The buttermilk depends on what consistency you like.

If you need it for a recipe one packet is equal to 1 TBSP.

Enjoy and please let me know what you think of this recipe.

Kobucha Tea and Kefir Grains

I've been looking for recipes for a natural detox. I've found that Kombucha tea and kefir drinks are healthy. I've looked all over the place looking for a scoby around my area. Without such luck, I'm not really fond of purchasing it from the internet. I did find a recipe that might work for making a scoby from scratch. I plan on making trying this recipe I'm not sure if it works but I've read that if you boil 3 qyarts of water, mix one cup of sugar, and take four black tea bag. Brew it and then allow it to cool to room temperature. Next pour in one cup of apple cider vinegar. Cover with a double cheese cloth and stick it in a dark warm closet for about one month. They say to try to use ALL organic. I'm definitely not comfortable with buying them on the internet. Here is a web page on kobucha tea.

Now I found a woman whom might sell me some kefir. If not, I, again, am not fond of buying on the internet. I'm only aware of water, milk and coconut. If you know of any more or know more information on either kombucha or kefir grains, please, email me. I've found that there are some really good recipes for kefir soda. I'm not sure if they are actually good but... here is a web page on kefir grains. Here's a website called Dom's kefir. Hopefully these web sites will be helpful. Here are some web page on kefir drinks, sodas and other types of recipes. Heise Health Clinc, Your Kefir, Kefir.net and I know that there are A LOT more. I will definitely be trying all this once we move into our new home. Lord willing, in five days.
